Michigan City is a small city at
the southern tip of Lake Michigan, near the Indiana/Michigan
border. To the west, five minutes by car, is Mt. Baldy, a giant
sand dune at the eastern end of the National Lakeshore - the
fourth most diverse park in the National Park system. The National
Lakeshore surrounds the Indiana Dunes State Park and together
consist of about 20,000 acres of dunes, trails, and beaches to
explore. The Hutchinson Mansion Inn is at the North end of town
putting us near the lake and other features that attract people to
the area; beaches, hiking, museums, casino and shopping.
